A Sporting Chance
project toolkit

Have in place effective exit strategies

The most important means used to achieve remotivation of disaffected high-risk students (underachieving students, potential drop-outs) is an investigation carried out by the student into study and career opportunities within an attractive and stimulating environment. After a suitable profession has been determined, participants are encouraged to make further career investments.

Programme participants find out which training programmes are available, and which steps are required before they can join their profession of choice. In addition, they visit the relevant training programmes, which lowers the psychological threshold for these students.

In a follow-up to the programme, the steps to be undertaken are discussed extensively. Appointments are made, and youngsters are given coaching and support in the steps they take.
