A Sporting Chance
project toolkit

Link programme to mainstream curricula

Let your programme be an end-on approach to integrating learners back into mainstream courses. The idea is they will develop personal and study skills along with a career orientation that will enable them to re-integrate successfully back into college programmes. The goal is to develop their confidence and competence to such levels they will be able to cope with the mainstream environment of less direction and control. To get them to a position where they can start gain with hope of success.

In this way it is much easier to create content that meets individual needs, any further integration would undermine the objectives of the programme. In other situations this may be possible but with these students with their 'history' enabling them to become successful learners is the single and most important goal.
