Use a structured approach

To help in our work Flexible Learning Associates Ltd created a framework that guides the actions taken and explains to teachers/trainers why they are be used. The word programme is used to describe a period of learning for two reasons:

• Work in training providers where much of the teaching is work-based and operates over extended periods of time does not fit the idea of a lesson
• To use a lesson as the basic component of learning denies the value of extending learning over 2 or more lessons and into independent learning opportunities such as homework and private study…it is important to promote the totality of learning.
