project partners in Leeds

The partnership in Leeds is formed by Leeds College of Technology, Learning through Leeds and The Leeds Rhinos. The local project manager works at Education Leeds, which is a non-profit company owned by Leeds city council, responsible for providing education support services.

Leeds College of Technology is a general furter education college with its main campus in the centre of the city of Leeds. The college operates within a culturally diverse area, with almost half of its students from areas classified as economically deprived. The college has about 5000 students, one quarter being full time students, and 200 staff members.

The Learning through Leeds project has set up learning centres supported by the government and local education authorities. It is supporting the Sporting Chance project as a source of inspiration and knowledge base.

Leeds Rhinos is a well-known name in the world of Rugby League, since the club was one of the founder clubs in 1895. The team plays in the national top division - Tetley's Super League. Rhinos share the grounds Headingley with the Leeds Tykes who are playing Rugby Union and next door is the cricket field of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club.
